LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Saint Louis University softball team achieved the nation's fourth-highest grade point average among NCAA Division I softball programs during the 2025-26 academic year, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced Wednesday.
Additionally, the Billikens' 3.813 GPA tied for seventh nationally among all four-year softball programs.
It is Saint Louis' seventh top-10 finish among NCAA Division I programs. The Billikens posted the division's highest GPA in 2024-25 (also the best among all four-year programs) after placing third in 2015-16, sixth in 2016-17, 2018-19 and 2023-24, and ninth in 2020-21. SLU has achieved a top-20 ranking every year since 2014-15 (except for 2019-20, when no NFCA awards were issued due to COVID-19).
In addition to the team accomplishment, 15 Billikens earned Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete plaudits for 2025-26. Recognition is given to student-athletes who compile a 3.5 or higher GPA (4.0 scale) for the entire academic year. Earning the honor were:

Butler (3.876), Eastern Illinois (3.87) and Alabama (3.844) recorded the top three GPAs in NCAA Division I. Omaha (3.802) followed Saint Louis in fifth, with Coastal Carolina (3.778), New Mexico (3.777), Western Kentucky (3.773), Wichita State (3.769) and Youngstown State (3.76) rounding out the top 10.
"Our student-athletes had another incredible year in the classroom," head coach
Christy Connoyer said. "The time and effort they put into their work is exceptional, especially with majors in biomedical engineering, accounting, neuroscience, education, sports business, data science, physical therapy, athletic training, marketing, nursing, biology and exercise science. They push themselves day in and day out, and I am extremely proud of the work they do.
"These young women balance academics and athletics and succeed in both arenas," Connoyer said. "They hold each other to high standards, and their commitment to excellence is beyond compare. To be recognized as having the fourth-best GPA in the country out of more than 300 teams reveals the quality of student-athlete we have at Saint Louis University."
