ST. LOUIS – The Saint Louis volleyball team opened the 2026 season with a 3-1 victory over Buffalo on Friday night in Chaifetz Pavilion. The Billikens had three players recorde double-digit kills, while holding the Bulls to a .105 hitting percentage.
Saint Louis hit .325 as a team, recording 52 kills on 120 attacks. The Billikens also held a 12-5 advantage in total blocks.
SET 1 | SLU 25, UB 22
The Billikens jumped out to an early 7-4 lead before Buffalo battled back to even the set at 13-13. Saint Louis responded with a 4-0 run to take a 17-13 advantage, then held off the Bulls late to take the opening set, 25-22.
Ellie Rink and
Anna Alexander each recorded four kills in the set, while the Billikens held Buffalo to a -.037 hitting percentage.
SET 2 | SLU 25, UB 15
Saint Louis controlled the second set from the start, building a 6-2 lead before extending its advantage to 12-5 and 15-7. The Billikens continued to pull away, leading by as many as 10 points before closing out the set, 25-15.
Saint Louis recorded 15 kills without an attack error and hit .455.
SET 3 | UB 25, SLU 17
Buffalo jumped ahead 6-1 and extended its lead to 11-3. Saint Louis battled back to cut the deficit to 12-8 but was unable to pull within three as Buffalo forced a fourth set with a 25-17 victory.
SET 4 | SLU 25, UB 14
The fourth set was back and forth early, with neither team leading by more than two points. With the score tied 10-10, Saint Louis took control with a 5-0 run and continued to pull away, closing out the match, 25-14.
The Billikens hit .522 in the fourth set and held Buffalo to a -.034 hitting percentage.
