ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis junior defender Luke Adams has been named to the United Soccer Coaches Hermann Trophy Player to Watch List for defenders.

The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis and is considered the most prestigious individual honor in NCAA Division I men's soccer. 

The Player to Watch Lists are compiled and released by the Division I All-America Committees to promote college soccer leading up to the official start date for the regular season later this month. The lists include United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and All-Region selections from 2025 who are scheduled to return for the 2026 season.

Adams transferred to Saint Louis from Tulsa and begins his first season with the Billikens this fall. Last season, he was named the American Conference Defender of the Year, earned first-team All-American Conference honors and was selected second-team United Soccer Coaches All-Region.

A second-round selection (52nd overall) by Charlotte FC in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft, Adams started all 28 matches he appeared in during his Tulsa career. As a redshirt sophomore in 2025, he started all 13 matches, anchored one of the conference's top defensive units and scored the first goal of his collegiate career, a game-winning strike in a 1-0 victory over Temple.

During his redshirt freshman campaign in 2024, Adams started all 15 contests and led all Tulsa field players with 1,350 minutes played.

Saint Louis has produced five Hermann Trophy winners: Al Trost (1969, 1970), Mike Seerey (1971, 1972) and Dan Counce (1973). Matt McKeon was named the Missouri Athletic Club National Player of the Year in 1995 before that award merged with the Hermann Trophy.
