ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University softball head coach Christy Connoyer has announced the addition of assistant coaches Dustin Wengert and Allison Reynolds to the Billikens' coaching staff.
"I am thrilled to welcome Dustin and Allison to the Billiken Softball family," Connoyer said. "The character and dedication of this staff reflects their passion for coaching softball and developing student-athletes on and off the field.
"Dustin brings great experience, an ability to recruit quality student-athletes and a proven background of winning to our program," Connoyer said. "He understands our objectives of education, competition and community, and his positive influence reflect our values. His drive to continue to maintain a championship mentality at SLU fits right in with our culture of developing high-character and high-achieving student-athletes on and off the field.
"Allison brings a background of teaching, coaching and detail-oriented success to our program," Connoyer said. "Her passion for coaching is evident in her willingness to work for and with our student-athletes and staff in numerous aspects of the program. The details are significant on the field and behind the scenes, and we're excited to have Allison on board to continue building championship success."
Wengert arrives at Saint Louis following five years as head coach at St. Charles Community College in Cottleville, Mo., where he became the program's career wins leader. The Cougars won 20 or more games in four consecutive seasons for the first time in program history under his guidance, including 37 and 33 victories in 2025 and 2026, respectively.
In 2025, Wengert led St. Charles to its best regional finish since 2004. He coached 12 All-Region and 12 All-Conference players during his tenure, which also included a stint as the school's athletics director beginning in January 2026.
Wengert's experience also includes two years as assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Mineral Area College; four years as head coach at Perryville High School, where he coached two district championship teams; and three years as athletics director at Notre Dame Regional High School. He holds a master's degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine and a bachelor's degree in marketing from Westminster College.
Reynolds served as an assistant coach at Indiana State in the 2025-26 academic year, and she has coaching experience as an assistant with an 18U Gators travel ball team. She played two years at Olney Central College, earning first-team All-Conference and second-team All-Region accolades in her sophomore season, and continued her career at Cleary University.
A native of Brownstown, Ind., Reynolds earned a master's degree in kinesiology (coaching) at Indiana State, a bachelor's degree in business administration (sports promotions and management) at Cleary and an associate's degree in sports management at Olney Central.
