Saint Louis is back on the road for a pair of games in Mount Pleasant, Mich. The Billikens take on Mercyhurst Saturday at 10 a.m. CT before facing host Central Michigan Sunday at noon CT.
ABOUT THE BILLIKENS
Saint Louis (1-3) is coming off its first victory of the season, a 4-1 win over Mercyhurst last Sunday in St. Louis. Ella Etherington, Ella Kappesser and Josie Naeger all scored their first career goals in the Mercyhurst win. Brynn Newborn also scored against the Lakers. Maddie Croghan has the Billikens' other goal this year, which was scored against Ohio during the opening weekend of play.
Among SLU's 11 returning players is Sierra Larson, last season's leading scorer with six goals. She has 33 points (13G, 7A) in her career.
Abby Schalow has played every minute in goal. She has made 20 saves on the year.
Head coach Laura Hurff is in her second season at Saint Louis after serving as interim head coach last year. Assistant coach McKenna Sergi is in her first season on the Billiken sideline. Gracie Burns joins the Billikens as a graduate assistant coach.
ABOUT MERCYHURST
The Lakers, in just their third season in NCAA Division I, are under the direction of first-year head coach Rachel Bannatyne. Mercyhurst is 1-3 on the season. It earned its first win of the year earlier this week, a 2-1 home victory over Saint Francis. The Lakers fell 9-0 on Friday against Central Michigan.
ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN
The Chippewas are also under the tutelage of a first-year head coach as Kelly Terwilliger guides Central Michigan. CMU (1-5) is coming off a 9-0 win over Mercyhurst on Friday, the largest margin of victory since 1997.
