Saint Louis hits the road this weekend for a pair of matches. The Billikens open their Atlantic 10 road slate Friday, Sept. 25, at VCU before traveling to Norfolk, Virginia, to face No. 25 Old Dominion on Sunday. Friday's match at Cary Street Field is set for 2 p.m. CT, while Sunday's contest at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex gets underway at 10 a.m. CT. Both will be streamed live on ESPN+.

ABOUT THE BILLIKENS

Saint Louis enters the weekend with a 2-5 overall record and a 0-1 mark in Atlantic 10 play. The Billikens opened conference action last Friday at home with a hard-fought 2-1 loss to Saint Joseph's.

Sierra Larson leads the Billikens offensively after scoring five goals over a two-match stretch that earned her A10 Offensive Player of the Week honors. Larson recorded a hat trick in Saint Louis' 6-0 victory over Mercyhurst and added two goals against Central Michigan.

Ella Etherington, RB McGowan and Brynn Newborn also have scored multiple goals this season, with two apiece.

Abby Schalow has played the majority of the minutes in goal and owns a 2.08 goals against average and 4.7 saves per game.

The Billikens have been strong defensively this season, especially on penalty corners. They have allowed just two goals on 42 penalty corners faced, which represented the fifth-best percentage in the country as of Sept. 20.

Head coach Laura Hurff is in her second season at Saint Louis after serving as interim head coach last year. Assistant coach McKenna Sergi is in her first season on the Billiken sideline, while Gracie Burns serves as a graduate assistant coach.

ABOUT VCU

VCU enters Friday's match with a 3-4 overall record and a 1-0 mark in Atlantic 10 play. The match against the Billikens will be VCU's home opener, as the Rams played their first seven matches on the road.

Josefina Ventimiglia has scored two of VCU's seven goals this season.

ABOUT OLD DOMINION

Old Dominion enters the weekend ranked No. 25 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll. The Monarchs are 5-2 overall and 0-1 in Big East Conference play.

Serena Langendoen, with six goals, and Sofia Marciano, with five, lead the team in scoring.
