Raised in Park Ridge, Ill., Emmanuel is the second of four children. He studied at Marquette University where he was involved in campus ministry, service trips, and Greek life. After graduating, Emmanuel worked as a fixed income institutional sales assistant in Milwaukee, Wis., before entering the Society of Jesus in 2018. As a Jesuit, he has served the homeless in Detroit, assisted immigrants and refugees on the border, and has undergone the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. The Spiritual Exercises are meditations and contemplative practices on the life of Christ, usually done over 30-days in solitude and silence in order to deepen one’s relationship with God and His Church.
He is currently pursuing an MA in Philosophy and Theology for Ministry at Saint Louis University. In addition to his studies, Emmanuel teaches catechism at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, writes for The Jesuit Post, and assists with local retreats.
Emmanuel has enjoyed supporting the baseball team by offering reflective exercises and tools for vocational discernment. In the spirit of Cura Personalis, Emmanuel hopes that each individual player will find their time at SLU to be formative and enjoyable.
