Nicole McDowell was hired as assistant coach of the Saint Louis’ field hockey team prior to the 2023 campaign.
A 2022 graduate of Saint Louis University, McDowell played five seasons for SLU head coach Zoe Adkins. McDowell started her collegiate career at Franklin Pierce University, where she played in 54 matches over three seasons.
McDowell transferred to SLU in 2020 when Adkins was named head coach of the Billikens. She started all 29 games over two years with the Billikens in 2020 and 2021. McDowell was a key component of a Billiken defense that allowed two or fewer goals in seven contests in 2021.
A native of Yarmouth, Maine, McDowell was a four-year letterwinner at Yarmouth High School and was an All-League first team pick, team MVP, and captain as a senior. She also played at the club level for Maine Elite Field Hockey.
