Chris Lowe, who played for Travis Ford at UMass and enjoyed a long professional basketball career, served a two-year stint as a Graduate Student Manager on the Saint Louis University men's basketball staff from 2018-20.

In 2018-19, Lowe was part of a staff that led the Billikens to the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship and a bid to the NCAA Tournament. 

Lowe starred at UMass from 2005-09, playing for Ford three seasons in Amherst. In fact, Lowe was Ford's first recruit at UMass, as he signed an NLI in April 2005. Lowe graduated as the school-record holder in career assists with 678, which still ranks sixth all time in Atlantic 10 Conference history.

A dynamic and exciting point guard at UMass, Lowe was featured on ESPN SportsCenter's Top Plays four different times during his career. He finished his career with more than 1,000 points and 600 assists, the first Minuteman to accomplish the feat. Lowe was also the sixth player in school history to register a triple-double when he went for 14 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds against La Salle his junior year.

Following his graduation from UMass, Lowe played professionally for eight seasons, a career spanning from the NBA D-League as well as overseas in Lithuania, Slovakia and Austria. He is a native of Mount Vernon, New York.
