Marcus Wilson

Marcus Wilson served three seasons on the Billikens' staff as video coordinator from 2013-16. He was part of the 2013-14 Billiken squad that captured the A-10 regular-season title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Wilson played for Jim Crews at the University of Evansville, where he scored 2,053 career points for the Purple Aces. Following his collegiate career, Wilson played professionally in Europe and South America.

A native of South Bend, Ind., Wilson was one of the top players not only in Evansville history, but in the Missouri Valley Conference as well. In 2007, he was named to the MVC’s All-Centennial Team. Wilson was honored as one of Evansville’s top 15 All-Time Greatest Players and was inducted into the Evansville Hall of Fame in 2008.

Wilson led the Purple Aces in scoring all four years. He registered MVC All-Newcomer team honors as a freshman, second-team accolades as a sophomore and first-team plaudits his junior and senior seasons. During his senior year in 1998-99, Wilson was named the Larry Bird MVC Player of the Year after leading UE to the MVC title. He scored 34 points against Kansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

After graduating from Evansville with a business degree in 1999, Wilson played in a summer league with the Utah Jazz. He then enjoyed an 11-year professional career that took him to Poland, Venezuela, Israel, Italy, France, Germany, Turkey, Ukraine and Spain.

Following his basketball career, Wilson worked in corporate-level positions at Aaron’s Sales and Lease and Chick-fil-a.Â
