Michael Wilson was promoted to Director of Basketball Operations prior to the 2019-20 season. He was one of Travis Ford’s first hires in 2016 as Support Services Coordinator.
As Director of Basketball Operations, Wilson takes on an expanded role that includes assisting in every facet of the program. In particular, Wilson will manage team travel and coordinate practice and meal schedules. Additionally, he will supervise the student manager staff.
“I would first like to thank Travis Ford and Chris May for the opportunity to move forward in my career,” Wilson said at the time of his promotion. “I have really enjoyed my time at Saint Louis University, and I am excited for this new opportunity. I am fortunate to work alongside great people, both in the athletic department and the community.”
“Michael is a crucial member of Team Blue, and we are excited to promote him to Director of Basketball Operations,” Ford said at the time of Wilson’s promotion. “Michael was one of my first hires at SLU. His dedication to our players and program is second to none, and he will continue to be very instrumental in the development of our program.”
Wilson was hired at SLU in April 2016 as Support Services Coordinator, with a main focus of managing the program's video operation as it relates to film breakdown for players and staff, as well as the scouting of opponents.
Before landing at SLU, Wilson served two years on Ford's staff at Oklahoma State as a graduate assistant and Assistant Video Coordinator. He was responsible for gathering and breaking down film for scouting purposes as well as preparing preseason, in-season and postseason highlight videos. Wilson also produced recruiting mail-outs while with the Cowboys.
A 2014 graduate of TCU, he served in multiple capacities on the TCU women's basketball staff as an undergrad including film coordinator, practice player and team manager. Wilson earned a master's degree from Oklahoma State in 2016.
