Biography

2022-23 • Junior
• Appeared in all 33 games and made 16 starts.
• Averaged 5.9 points and 3.7 rebounds.
• Third on the Billikens with 20 blocked shots.
• Shot 48.4 percent from the field (74-153).
• In A-10 games only, shot better than 50 percent from the field and averaged 7.7 points and 4.2 rebounds.
• Scored in double figures in five games, including a team-leading and season-high 15 points at VCU.
• Had 12 points and nine rebounds in the win against Rhode Island.
• Scored 11 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked a career-high four shots in the win over La Salle.
• Came up big in the first half in the win against Memphis, scoring six points including a big 3-pointer.
• Recipient of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association 2023 Perry Wallace Most Courageous Award for coming forward to discuss his mental health and helping to remove any stigma still associated with that, and to also acknowledge the many issues college basketball players – and athletes in all sports – have faced before, during and after the pandemic.

2021-22 • Sophomore
• Played in all 35 games and started 16 times.
• Averaged 6.7 ppg and pulled down 4.2 rpg.
• Shot 41.9 percent (96-229) from the floor.
• Led the Billikens in scoring in three games.
• Scored in double figures on seven occasions.
• Recorded back-to-back double-doubles against Memphis and Mercer.
• He had a season-high 20 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in the game at Memphis.
• Followed that up with a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double against Mercer.
• Was 6-of-7 from the field en route to 13 points against Illinois State at the Cancun Challenge.
• Scored 17 points in the game against Auburn.
• Led the Billikens with 14 points in the semifinals of the A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship against Davidson.
 
2020-21 • Sophomore
• Appeared in 19 games and averaged 4.2 ppg.
• Shot 42.6 percent from the field and 42.4 percent from 3-point range.
• Recorded a season-high 11 points in the season opening win over SIUE.
• Went 4-for-4 from the field (2-of-2 from 3-point range) en route to 10 point in the regular-season finale win against UMass.
• Led the Billikens with eight points at Dayton.
• Hit two treys en route to 10 points and played a season-high 20 minutes in the NIT game against Mississippi State.
 
NOTE: Student-athletes who competed in the 2020-21 season were granted an additional year of eligibility by the NCAA due the COVID-19 pandemic. The year reflected on the Billikens’ roster helps represent eligibility remaining. 2019-20 • Freshman
• Appeared in 25 games, including all but one conference game.
• Shot a team-best 51.6 percent from the field, with a large portion of his FGs being dunks.
• Registered career highs of 27 points and seven rebounds against Maryville.
• Second on the Billikens with 11 blocked shots.
• Scored in double figures in six games.
• Scored in double figures in three-straight wins late in the conference season (VCU, Saint Joseph’s, at Rhode Island).
• Led SLU with four points in overtime at La Salle and finished with seven points for the game.
• Turned in 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting against Kansas State.
• Registered 11 points and brought down five rebounds at Duquesne.
 
Prior to SLU
• Prepped at East St. Louis High School in East St. Louis, Illinois.
• Widely referred to as one of the most electrifying prep players in the metro area.
• Led East St. Louis to its first-ever state championship.
• Averaged 18.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg and better than 3.0 bpg for the Flyers.
• Scored 32 points and added 10 rebounds in the Flyers' comeback win in the state championship game.
• Illinois Class 3A All-State first team selection.
• First-team All-Metro and first-team Fab-Five All-Star by the St. Louis American.
• As a junior at East St. Louis, he averaged 18.2 ppg and 9.5 rpg, shot 46 percent from the field and led the team with 61 blocks.
• Played for Bradley Beal Elite.
