Tieghan Morio is in her first season as a graduate assistant with the Saint Louis University softball team.
Morio began her collegiate softball career at Ball State University, where she played three seasons. A pitcher, she posted a 22-9 record, a 3.51 ERA and 130 strikeouts for the Cardinals. In 2019, Morio garnered second-team All-Mid-American Conference and MAC All-Freshman accolades and was an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete. She collected Academic All-MAC recognition in 2021.
Morio spent her final two years at Eastern Illinois University, where she played on the Panthers’ 2023 team that won the Ohio Valley Conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Championship. She received the OVC Medal of Honor in 2022, made the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll both years, and was a Dean’s List student each year at both institutions she attended.
Morio holds a bachelor’s degree in sport management and a master’s degree in sport administration from Eastern Illinois.
“We are excited to welcome Tieghan to our program,” head coach Christy Connoyer said. “She is fresh off an appearance at the NCAA Tournament, and that championship experience will continue to help raise the bar with our team. Her attention to detail in pitching and in her graduate work will fit well into our program.”
