Assistant coach Honey Brown is in her third season at Saint Louis University. Brown, who returned to coaching after spending five years as director and head trainer at Performance Training Inc. in Orlando, Fla., joined the Billiken program in June 2008. She works primarily with the point guards and is instrumental in scouting upcoming opponents.
Brown's previous collegiate coaching experience consists of a four-year tenure as an assistant at Ohio University and a one-year stint as an assistant at the University of Central Florida. She helped guide the 1998-99 Central Florida team to a 20-10 record, Atlantic Sun Conference regular-season and tournament championships and an NCAA Tournament berth. Brown's coaching background also includes four years as an assistant at Lenoir City (Tenn.) High School, where she helped lead the Panthers to a state tournament appearance in 1998.
Brown is a 1994 graduate of Maryville (Tenn.) College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry for secondary education and was a four-year member of the basketball team. She helped lead the Scots to three appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament round of 16, served as co-captain her junior and senior years and was third in the nation in 3-point field-goal percentage in her junior campaign.
