The 2021-22 season was graduate student manager Hailey Diestelkamp's second season on the Saint Louis University women's basketball staff.
The Owensville, Mo., native averaged 21.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.8 steals, while shooting .522 from the field for an undefeated (32-0) Great Lakes Valley Conference champion Drury University as a senior in 2019-20. The team finished its season as the number one team in NCAA-II.
Diestelkamp was named the national Player of the Year in Division II by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association, and she earned First Team All-America honors from the WBCA and the D2CCA.
The forward set a team and GLVC single-game scoring record with 53 points in the final home game of her career against Rockhurst on Feb. 29. She managed to score in double-figures in 30 of Drury's 32 games, and she noctched 12 double-doubles. Diestelkamp was named the NCAA-II Player of the Week twice during 2019-20 in addition to earning MVP honors in the GLVC Tournament for the third year in a row as she helped the Lady Panthers to their fourth consecutive conference title.
A psychology major, Diestelkamp posted a 3.65 GPA in her final semester and earned back-to-back CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in her junior and senior year. She was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America squad in the spring of 2020 and has been an Academic All-GLVC pick during the last two years.
