Kim Burke is in her second year as administrative assistant for Saint Louis women's basketball, aiding head coach Shimmy Gray-Miller with all facets of the program. Her daily responsibilities include managing the basketball office, assisting with game scheduling, coordinating team travel and overseeing basketball alumni operations. Burke came to Saint Louis following five years as head girls' basketball coach at William R. Boone High School in Orlando, Fla. Her team won at least 20 games each season and posted a five-year record of 120-25. Boone won three district championships, two conference titles and two regional crowns during her tenure. Burke led the Lady Braves to three consecutive 6A state tournament berths, including appearances in the 2006 and 2007 semifinals. She was named District 2 Coach of the Year in 2007 and Metro Conference Coach of the Year in 2005. Burke spent four years as a Boone assistant coach prior to her stint as head coach. She also coached the Lady Rage Youth Basketball of America travel team for five years, leading the U-16 and U-17 squads to the national championship in 2002 and 2003, respectively. In 2009, she was head coach of the FGB elite travel team, an instructor at the University of Florida Elite Camps and an instructor/director of FGB exposure events. Burke served as a program director in Orlando from 1998 to 2004, first at Central Florida YMCA and then at Youth Basketball of America. At YBOA, she developed and administered tournaments, leagues and national and international clinics. Burke is a 1996 graduate of Niagara University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in communication studies. She was a first-team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference selection and Niagara's Student-Athlete of the Year in 1996, finishing 30th in the nation with a 20.1 scoring average. She concluded her career second in 3-point field-goal percentage and 14th in scoring on the Purple Eagles' all-time lists.
