Noah Banasiewicz, SJ, joined SLU Volleyball as team chaplain in January 2022. Before entering the Jesuits, Noah studied accounting at Loyola University Chicago and worked for an alternative investment firm.
Originally from Virginia Beach, Va., Noah played travel ball for Oceans Volleyball Club and earned 3 consecutive state champion titles with the Princess Anne High School men's varsity team. Noah continued to play club volleyball for Loyola Chicago during his studies.
Entering the Jesuit Novitiate in 2019, Noah spent his first years of Jesuit formation by working in Campus Ministry at St. Thomas University, serving as a nurse aide for the infirmed, and teaching 4th-8th grade theology at Jesuit Academy in Omaha, Neb.Â
Noah is currently studying philosophy and pursuing a master's in communication at Saint Louis University. Along with serving as chaplain to the volleyball team, Noah helps coordinate "Java with the Jesuits" on campus, tutors students at Loyola Academy, and serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at L'Arche Saint Louis.
