St. Louis -
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has named Saint Louis University senior forward Dipsy Selolwane (Gaborone, Botswana) to its first-team All-America squad and sophomore midfielder Brad Davis (St. Charles, Mo. / Chaminade) to its second-team All-America team.
"Dipsy and Brad were an exceptional one-two punch for us this year," Billikens head coach Dan Donigan said. "Their national team experience combined with their instinctive play made them unpredictable. They also integrated their wonderful individual skills into our team concept incredibly well."
The Conference USA Player of the Year and a national Player of the Year candidate, Selolwane's 54 points (25G, 4A) is the Billikens' best total since 1995 national Player of the Year Matt McKeon compiled 54 and is tied for seventh all-time on the SLU single-season list. His 25 goals is the third-best single-season total in Billiken history. He led the nation in goals scored and tied SMU's Luchi Gonzalez for the national lead in total points.
A Hermann Trophy candidate, Davis tied Syracuse's Jarett Park as the national leader in assists. With 34 points (10G, 14A), he became one of only eight Billikens to reach double figures in goals and assists in a single season.
The C-USA champion Billikens (18-2-0) were ranked second nationally entering the NCAA Tournament and reached the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament before being eliminated by Stanford.
