The Missouri Tigers ended Saint Louis University's four-game winning streak with a 64-53 victory in front of a Bauman-Eberhardt Center record crowd of 1,785. The Tigers used an early 10-0 run to take a lead they would not relinquish and held off several late charges by the Billikens.
Missouri twice led by 14 points in the second half before the Billikens rallied. The Tigers led 46-33 with 12:05 left before the Bills rallied. Kirsti Holloway hit a 3-pointer to start the Billiken run. Amy Loftus scored on Missouri's next trip to make it 48-36. Stephanie Solomon converted a layup and Angie Lewis hit a short jumper to make it 48-40. Natalie Bright fed Evan Unrau for an easy layup to make it 50-40 with 9:07 remaining in the game. Harmonie King hit a jumper and Lewis converted an offensive rebound for a layup as the Billikens pulled to 50-44 with 7:08 left to play.
Missouri's leading scorere Kerensa Barr hit a 3-pointer from the right side to halt the rally. Unrau then grabbed an offensive rebound for a put back and then hit one free throw on Missouri's next trip as the Tigers led 55-44. The Billikens cut the margin to 60-53 with 1:10 left to play, but Barr hit four straight free throws in the final minute to ice the game.
Evan Unrau led the Tigers with 17 points while Kerensa Barr added 16. Angie Lewis paced the Billikens with her third straight double-double and finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Tigers improve to 6-1 while the Billikens fall to 4-3.
