St. Louis, Mo. -
Saint Louis University men's soccer head coach Dan Donigan announced today that Diphetogo (Dipsy) Selolwane has signed a financial aid agreement with the University. Selolwane will have one year of eligibility beginning with the 2001 academic year.
A native of Botswana, Selolwane has 15 caps with the Botswana National Team. He also has played for both Botswana's 20-and-Under and 23-and-Under National Teams.
"Dipsy's creativity and touch around the goal hopefully will help take some defensive pressure off Jackie Jewsbury," Donigan said. "Soccer analysts from Dipsy's homeland compare him favorably with some of the best strikers to ever represent their country."
A 5-foot-9, 155-pound forward, Selolwane played at Harris-Stowe last fall and produced a school record 35 goals. He was an NAIA All-America and was named to the NAIA All-Tournament team.
