Normal, Ill. - In a matchup versus visiting Saint Louis University at Evergreen Racquet Club, the Illinois State men's tennis team took a heated doubles competition earning the doubles point Friday night. With the two school's top teams of Ikaika Jobe/Tom de Larzac and the Redbirds' Djordje Usokovic/Benjamin Pettinari meeting at the No. 1 doubles spot, Illinois State defeated Saint Louis 9-8 (5).

The Redbirds also won five of the six singles matches to claim the 6-1 victory.

In Singles Play:

1) Ikaika Jobe defeated Uskokovic, 7-6,7-5

2) Lance Vodicka lost to Jason Smit, 4-6,6-4,6-1

3) Thomas Kwong lost to Marek Blaskovic 6-2,6-2

4) Tom de Larzac lost to Ben Cappuccitti 4-6,6-3,6-3

5) Sanjeev Paramanathan lost to Ciaran Foley 4-6, 6-0,7-6

6) Taylor Curran lost to Andy Martin 6-3,4-1, retired

In Doubles Play:

1) Jobe/de Larzac lost to Uskokovic/Pettinari, 9-8

2) Kwong/Michael Hoosien lost to Smit/Martin, 9-7

3) Curran/Vodicka defeated Foley/Blaskovic, 8-3
