Reeb Collects Lone Singles Win Against Belmont

Feb. 10, 2007

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Sophomore Adam Reeb picked up his first singles win of the season at the No. 6 position and the Saint Louis men's tennis stayed within striking distance in each match, but the Billikens ultimately fell to Belmont 6-1 on Saturday afternoon in Little Rock, Ark.

The Billikens were unable to obtain the doubles point despite strong efforts by all three doubles pairs. The No. 1 and No. 2 doubles tandems lost by two poitns apiece while Marcus Fadul and Reeb lost 8-5 at the No. 3 position.

"This match was a lot closer than the final scores indicated," assistant coach Andrew Balcer said. "Our guys were really into their matches and the doubles point was truly ours for the taking. We've made quite an improvement since last season. Everyone looks good and we're just anxious to get our first win."

SLU continued to keep the matches close in singles action. Reeb defeated Zach Zola 6-3, 7-5 for the Billlikens' lone point of the match. Marcus Fadul had a tough match-up against Felipe Abreu at No. 4 singles losing 7-5, 6-4.

Tomorrow the Bills face host UALR at 8 a.m.
