SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Missouri State shot 64 percent from the field and topped Saint Louis 81-65 Saturday night at JQHArena.

The Billikens, who were led in scoring by Jordair Jett, dips to 4-5 with the loss. Missouri State improves to 7-3 with the victory.

MSU's Kyle Weems (game-high 26 points) and Will Creekmore (20 points) accounted for 46 of the Bears' 81 points.

Missouri State shot 60 percent from the field in the opening session and led 38-26 at the half. The Bears continued their hot shooting into the second half, hitting 68.4 percent from the floor to finish 63.6 percent.

Jett's 18 points came on 6-of-13 shooting from the field and 6-of-8 from the line. Kyle Cassity chipped in 11 points, while Mike McCall registered 10 points.

The teams traded buckets in the opening minutes of the game, with Rob Loe and Cassity scoring early for the Bills. Missouri State, however, registered back-to-back 3-pointers and led 10-5 at the first media timeout, a lead it would protect the rest of the game.

Cody Ellis converted a traditional 3-point play to pull the Billikens within four at 12-8, but the Bears continued their efficient shooting and led by 11 with 7:25 in the opening session.

A pair of Jett free throws pulled the Billikens within nine late in the first half, but Missouri State took a 12 point lead into the break. Missouri State's Weems had a game-high 16 points at halftime.

Loe nailed a trey and followed with a jumper as the Billikens scored the first five points of the second half to pull within seven.

Later in the half, Jordair Jett and Cassity hit back-to-back jumpers to pull the Billikens within six at 54-48 with just under 10 minutes to go in the game. But that is as close to the lead that the Bills would get before eventually falling 81-65.
