ST. PETERS, Mo. - The Saint
Louis women's swimming and diving team won 13 of 14 events and defeated
Lindenwood 188.5-70.5 Saturday afternoon.
In men's competition, SLU (62 points) finished third in a triangular
against Missouri S&T (104) and Lindenwood (82).
Jalynn Gieseke, Lizzy Osterman and Taylor Streid won two individual and one relay title apiece, while Christiana Eltiste captured both diving
events. Maggie Brabbins and Emily Kopec each swam on two relay
winners.
Gieseke touched first in the 50 freestyle (25.12) and 100 butterfly
(1:00.36); Osterman won the 200 freestyle (1:58.41) and 500 freestyle
(5:22.35); and Streid was victorious in the 200 individual medley (2:11.26) and
100 backstroke (1:00.38). Eltiste won the 1-meter (260.15) and 3-meter (243.50)
diving events. Taylor Rogers
captured the 1000 freestyle (10:59.24), and Melanie Battaglia was first in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.50).
The Billikens won all three relays. Streid, Battaglia, Gieseke and
Brabbins brought home a victory in the 200 medley (1:53.37); Brabbins, Kirsten Gobell, Kopec and Ellie Lorenzi touched first in the 200
freestyle (1:44.08); and Osterman, Kopec, Rogers and Whitney Gould won the 400 freestyle (3:43.59).
For the Billiken men, Billy Hrabovsky won the 1-meter (301.75) and
3-meter (317.70) diving events.
Saint Louis competes in the IUPUI House of
Champions meet Nov. 11-12.
