Billikens Fall at St. Bonaventure, 83-73

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure's Ogo Adegboye registered a career-high 29 points as the Bonnies knocked off the visiting Saint Louis Billikens 83-73 Wednesday in an Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball matchup at the Reilly Center.

Dwayne Evans led the Billikens (8-17, 3-9 A-10) with 16 points, while Brian Conklin added 15. Mike McCall and Cory Remeken added 11 points apiece as SLU shot 50 percent from the floor.

Rob Loe scored four of the Billikens' first six points, and a McCall layin with 12:49 remaining in the first half put the Billikens on top by four, 10-6.

The Bonnies (14-10, 6-5 A-10) stormed back, and the lead changed hands several times until a 6-0 run by SBU put the Bonnies up 18-15 with 6:22 left. Behind the hot shooting of Da'Quan Cook, who scored eight straight for the Bonnies at one point, SBU went on a 17-2 run near the end of the first half. An Adegboye trey at the buzzer gave St. Bona a 32-21 lead at halftime.

Dwayne Evans tried to get the Bills back in it at the start of the second half, scoring six of the Billikens' first eight point of the half. Loe drained a long trey to cut the Billikens' deficit to 11 at 43-32 with 15:24 left. McCall hit a trey moments later to keep SLU's deficit to 11.

St. Bonaventure stretched its lead to 18 with 3:42 to go, but the resilient Billikens rallied late in the game and pulled to within nine in the final minute before eventually falling by 10.

The Billikens return to action Saturday, Feb. 19, when Charlotte visits Chaifetz Arena at 7 p.m. (CT). It is the annual Billiken Blue Out, where fans are encouraged to wear blue. In addition, the game will be televised on KPLR 11 in St. Louis.
