How the Billikens Got Here: The Billikens entered the A-10 Championship as the No. 2 seed. They topped No. 7 La Salle 3-1 on Thursday in the quarterfinals. Junior midfielder Alex Sweetin and sophomore forward Robbie Kristo tallied a goal and an assist apiece, and sophomore forward Kingsley Bryce scored the game winner. The win against the Explorers set up a semifinal matchup against two-time defending A-10 champion Xavier. Bryce again tallied the game winner, scoring in the 82nd minute off an assist from junior forward Adnan Gabeljic, to vault the Billikens to the victory. The SLU defense limited the potent Xavier attack to just eight shots, and junior keeper Nick Shackelford stood tall with three saves.

Billikens in A-10 Tourney: Sunday's game will mark the third time SLU has played in the A-10 title match since joining the league in 2005. The Bills advanced to the championship game in their inaugural season in the league in 2005, but Rhode Island captured the title on PKs after the two teams played to a 2-2 draw at SLU's Hermann Stadium. In 2009, Saint Louis topped Dayton 2-0 in Kingston, R.I. for its first A-10 tourney title. Senior midfielder Michael Robson, then a freshman, scored the game winner for the Billikens. Saint Louis has a 7-3-3 all-time record in A-10 Championship action.

Billikens Going for 10th Conference Tourney Title: The Billikens have captured nine conference championship titles in their history. SLU won back-to-back Great Midwest Conference tourney titles in 1991 and 1992. During its 10-year membership in Conference USA, Saint Louis won the C-USA men's soccer tournament on six occasions: 1995, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003. The Billikens also claimed an A-10 tournament title in 2009.

NCAA Selection Show: The winner of the SLU/VCU matchup receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, though both schools are expected to be picked for the NCAAs regardless of Sunday's outcome as SLU is No. 9 and VCU No. 21 in the latest RPI. The 48-team field will be announced Monday, Nov. 12, at 4:30 p.m. on NCAA.com. Here is the link to view the selection show.

Winning Ways: The Billikens' next victory will be their 16th of the season, which would be the most wins since the 2001 squad won 18 games. Saint Louis also posted 15-win seasons in 2009, 2003 and 2002. The school record for wins in a season belongs to the 1991 team, which posted a 20-2-2 record en route to the NCAA semifinals.

RPI: The Billikens are No. 9 in the NCAA Men's Soccer RPI. SLU has not dropped from the top 10 RPI since the first ranking came out in early October. In the initial report, SLU was No. 8, the highest the Bills have been ranked in the RPI since the NCAA began releasing the ranking mid-season. The RPI is one of the most important criteria used by the NCAA soccer committee as it selects at-large teams for the NCAA Tournament.

In the Rankings: The Billikens are ranked in every college soccer national poll. SLU comes in at No. 15 by Soccer America and No. 22 in TopDrawerSoccer.com's Tournament 48 rankings, which attempts to project the 48-team field for the NCAA Tournament. SLU comes in at No. 23 in the Soccer Times coaches poll and the College Soccer News poll, and is No. 25 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire rankings.

About the Billikens: Ten players account for the Billikens' 42 goals, led by sophomore forward Robbie Kristo, who has tallied 10 times and added five assists for a team-leading 25 points. Sophomore Adnan Gabeljic and junior midfielder Alex Sweetin have 17 points (6G, 5A) apiece. Sophomore forward Kingsley Bryce has 15 points (6G, 3A), while junior defender Jon Roeckle has three goals and five assists for 10 points. Sophomore midfielder Raymond Lee has four goals, while freshman midfielder David Graydon chips in with two goals and five assists. Junior goalkeeper Nick Shackelford has started every game between the posts. He sports a 0.84 goals against average and eight shutouts.

That's Offensive: The Billikens' 42 goals this year are the most by a Billiken squad since the 2003 outfit scored 42. That team was led by Vedad Ibisevic's 18 scores. SLU's 2002 team scored 50 goals.

Getting Defensive: Saint Louis has been strong defensively as of late. The SLU defense has yielded just four goals in the last eight games, with four shutouts coming during that span. In the Billikens' two games at the A-10 Championship, the SLU defense yielded just eight shots apiece for La Salle and Xavier. For the year, opponents have scored multiple goals against the Bills just four times.

Scouting VCU: The Rams, playing in their first season in the A-10, used a pair of 1-0 victories against No. 5 Temple (quarterfinals) and No. 1 Charlotte (semifinals) to advance to Sunday's championship tilt. Both game-winning goals were scored by Mario Herrera Meraz late in the match. Offensively, VCU is led by A-10 Offensive Player of the Year Jason Johnson, who has 13 goals and six assists for 32 points. Meraz has 20 points (6G, 8A), while Devon Fisher has scored six goals for the Rams. Keeper Andrew Wells has a 0.98 goals against average and four shutouts.

Series History: The only other meeting between SLU and VCU came earlier this season at Hermann Stadium, with the Billikens pulling off a thrilling, come-from-behind 3-2 victory. SLU's Raymond Lee scored with eight seconds remaining in regulation to tie the score at 2-2, and Robbie Kristo scored the golden goal off an assist from David Graydon in the 104th minute to deliver the victory.

SLU Coaching Staff: Mike McGinty is in his third season as the Billikens' head coach. He was hired in March 2010 after an 11-year stint at the University of Virginia, where he served as associate head coach for the 2009 NCAA national champion Cavaliers. McGinty's three-year career coaching record is 30-21-4. He is aided by assistant coaches Jason O'Keefe and Mark Santel, goalkeeper coach Franco Carotenuto and student assistant coach Blake Schneider.

Kristo Nabs A-10 Player of the Week: Saint Louis sophomore forward Robbie Kristo was named A-10 Player of the Week Oct. 15. Kristo buried the game-winning goals in victories against No. 21 VCU and Richmond. His goal against VCU came in double overtime.

Lee Recognized by College Soccer News: Saint Louis sophomore defender Raymond Lee was named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week for his performance against Creighton Sept. 22. Lee scored twice, including the game winner, in helping the Billikens to a 3-1 victory against the then No. 7 Bluejays.

Graydon Named A-10 Rookie of the Week: Saint Louis freshman midfielder David Graydon earned A-10 Rookie of the Week honors Sept. 4. He tallied the game-winning goal in SLU's 3-1 win against UMKC. Graydon has started every game this season for the Bills.
