COLUMBIA, Mo. – Sadie Stipanovich scored 19 points and Olivia Jakubicek collected a game-high and team season-high 11 rebounds, but Missouri posted a 74-55 win over Saint Louis Monday night at Mizzou Arena.
Stipanovich, who has 67 points in the last four games, was 7-of-14 from the floor and 5-of-7 from the foul line. She was joined in double figures by Jackie Kemph (11 points), who buried a career-high three 3-pointers for a second consecutive game. Kemph also had a game-high six assists.
Jakubicek, whose 11 rebounds included a game-high five offensive boards, narrowly missed a double-double with nine points on 4-of-7 shooting. She added three assists. Erin Nelson had eight points, while Maddison Gits (3-of-3 FG) recorded a career-high six.
Missouri's Morgan Eye was 6-of-12 from beyond the arc en route to a game-high 20 points. Kayla McDowell and Juanita Robinson scored 10 points apiece, and Jordan Frericks registered 10 rebounds and four blocks. Robinson and Lindsey Cunningham picked up five assists apiece.
After Stipanovich tossed in six points to stake Saint Louis to an 8-2 lead, Missouri outscored the Billikens 27-7 to go on top 29-15.
SLU caught fire near the end of the first half, however, scoring on its final five possessions to get back in the game. Nelson, Jakubicek and Kemph drilled 3-pointers, Gits made a layup, and Stipanovich recorded a three-point play to narrow the Missouri lead to 36-29 at the break.
A drive by Kemph and Jakubicek's jumper in the key pulled the Billikens to within five, 38-33, with 15:57 remaining. Missouri answered with 3-pointers on its next three possessions, but a Stipanovich layup, a Nelson trey and a Gits layup kept Saint Louis close at 47-40.
The Bills' offense stalled, however, and Missouri assembled a 14-1 spurt that gave the Tigers a 61-41 cushion with 9:10 to play.
The Billikens host Indiana State Sunday, Dec. 14. Game time at Chaifetz Arena is 2 p.m.
