HOMEWOOD, Ill. – Senior Pat Kella became Saint Louis' all-time leader in men's career singles victories, and the Billikens continued their winning ways with a 7-0 triumph over Chicago State Friday.
Kella, who defeated Sergiu Muresan 6-0, 0-6, 7-5 at No. 1, has 55 singles victories in his four-year career. He surpassed Ikaika Jobe and Lance Vodicka for the top spot, helping lead the Bills (7-5) to their fourth consecutive victory and fifth win in six matches in the process.
SLU won all six singles matches and two of three doubles contests. In addition to Kella, Nishaad Balachandran (No. 4) and Vuk Poledica (No. 5) won in three sets, with Poledica overcoming a first-set defeat.
The Billikens take on Northern Illinois Saturday in DeKalb, Ill.
