ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University tied for 13th nationally in team grade point average among NCAA Division I softball programs for the 2014-15 academic year, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced today.
The Billikens, who placed 11 student-athletes on the 2014-15 All-America Scholar-Athlete list (minimum 3.5 GPA for the entire year) released earlier by the NFCA, registered a 3.495 team GPA last year. In addition to tying for 13th nationally, SLU led the Atlantic 10 Conference.
“I'm very proud that our program has reached a level of academic achievement that is nationally recognized,” head coach
Christy Connoyer said. “Finishing 13th in the nation in GPA is an incredible accomplishment that reflects very positively on the young women who represent Billiken softball. They are serious about their academic pursuits, and their hard work on the field carries over to the classroom on a daily basis.”
