THE BASICS
Saint Louis sophomores Milik Yarbrough and Miles Reynolds scored 17 and 15 points, respectively, as the Billikens posted a 76-60 win over St. Francis Brooklyn Saturday night at Chaifetz Arena. The Billikens move to 3-0 with the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-- The game featured four ties and six lead changes.
-- It was back-and-forth throughout the first half as neither team registered a lead of more than five points.
-- Jermaine Bishop hit a 3-pointer for SLU at the first-half buzzer to send the Billikens into halftime with a 32-30 lead. It was Bishop's first career points.
-- The Billikens led the entire second half but didn't break the game open until a 13-1 rally in the final four minutes gave the Bills a double-digit cushion.
-- Reynolds scored 13 of his 15 points in the second stanza, while Yarbrough scored 11 of his 17 points in the second half.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
-- Yarbrough led the Billikens in scoring for the first time this season. SLU has had three different leading scorers in each of their first three games – Mike Crawford (Hartford), Ash Yacoubou (SIUE), Yarbrough (St. Francis Brooklyn).
--Â Yarbrough finished 5-of-10 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. His seven free-throws made is a career high. Yarbrough also dished out three assists and did not commit a turnover.
-- Reynolds scored in double figures for the third straight game. He was 4-of-7 from the field to increase his team-leading shooting percentage to 60 percent (12-of-20) for the season. Reynolds tied his career high with four assists.
-- Leading scorer Ash Yacoubou contributed eight points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field.
-- Brett Jolly took a charge, connected on both of his field goals and was 3-of-4 from the line for seven points. He also corralled three rebounds. Jolly's seven points where the most he has scored since Dec. 6 of last year (at Wichita State).
-- The Billikens' 53.1 percent shooting percentage from the floor was a season high. It was the second time they hit 50 percent of their shots this season.
ST. FRANCIS BROOKLYN LEADERS
-- Tyreek Jerwell led the Terriers (1-2) with 12 points. Glenn Sanabria scored 11 points and dished out a team-high six assists.
