THE BASICS
Despite a career-high 20 points by junior Mike Crawford, Saint Louis fell 77-57 to Louisville Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The Billikens (4-1) had a lead on the Cardinals (5-0) early in the second half, but Louisville used a 10-0 run midway through the second session to grab a lead it would not relinquish.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-- The game featured six lead changes and seven ties.
-- Saint Louis got a 3-pointer from Milik Yarbrough and a fast-break bucket from Marcus Bartley and went up by five, 16-11, with 11:26 left in the first half. It would be the Bills' largest lead of the game.
-- Matt Neufeld and Bartley hit a pair of jumpers late in the half as the Billikens trailed by three, 30-27, at the break.
-- The Billikens tied it at 31-all early in the second half thanks to buckets by Miles Reynolds and Neufeld. A Reynolds 3-pointer gave the Billikens the lead briefly in the second half at 34-33 with 16:10 left.
-- A 10-0 Louisville run gave the Cardinals a double-digit lead at the 11:52, and they led by double digits the rest of the way.
-- Louisville won the battle on the glass by a 36-14 margin.Â
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
-- Crawford hit his first three 3-point attempts and finished 4-of-5 from long range, 7-of-9 from the field overall. His four 3-pointers were a career best.
-- Milik Yarbrough was 5-of-9 from the field en route to 14 points.
-- Miles Reynolds scored eight points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field, including 2-of-2 from 3-point range.
