Second-Half Surge Powers Billikens Past Alabama A&M, 75-58

THE BASICS
--Saint Louis took command with a 10-0 run early in the second half, and the Billikens went on to post a 75-58 victory over Alabama A&M Saturday night at Chaifetz Arena.
--The Billikens, who snapped a three-game skid, improved to 5-3. Alabama A&M dropped to 4-2 with its second consecutive defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED
--Saint Louis scored on three of its first four possessions to take a 7-4 lead. Nicolas West hit from beyond the arc on two consecutive possessions to put Alabama A&M on top 10-7.
--There were 15 lead changes and five ties in the opening 20 minutes. SLU finished the half with an 8-0 flurry that gave the Billikens a 34-28 halftime edge. Ash Yacoubou finished the run with back-to-back treys.
--An Austin Gillmann 3-pointer kick-started the 10-0 spurt that put Saint Louis in control. The trey was followed by a Miles Reynolds bucket that gave the Bills their first double-digit lead, 44-34.
--Reynolds sank two free throws, and Mike Crawford followed a SLU offensive rebound with one of his career-high-tying four 3-pointers, punctuating the run and giving the Billikens a 49-34 advantage.
--Alabama A&M narrowed the gap to 10 points on two occasions, but Saint Louis immediately answered with points both times. The Billikens built a 20-point cushion before settling for the final score.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES
--Milik Yarbrough posted a game-high-tying 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and third of his career. Yarbrough added four assists.
--Mike Crawford (4-of-8 from 3-point range) also netted 16 points and grabbed a season-high six rebounds in a career-high 32 minutes.
--Miles Reynolds contributed 12 points, a career-high eight assists and a career-high-tying three steals in a career-high 33 minutes. Reynolds also tied his season best by making eight free throws (8-of-8).
--Ash Yacoubou registered 12 points and eight rebounds.
--Reggie Agbeko equaled his season high of eight rebounds and made a career-high three steals.
--Saint Louis held Alabama A&M to its season scoring low.
--The Billikens connected on a season-high nine 3-pointers (9-of-22, 40.9 percent). SLU was 5-of-9 from beyond the arc in the second half.
--SLU shot a season-best 81.8 percent (18-of-22) from the foul line. The Billikens outscored the Bulldogs 18-7 from the stripe.
--The Bills earned a 46-34 edge on the glass, their second-highest rebounding margin of the season.
--SLU collected a season-high nine steals.
--Saint Louis recorded 19 assists on 24 field goals.
--The 17-point victory margin tied the Billikens' largest of the season.
