ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University placed 120 student-athletes on the Atlantic 10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall 2014 semester.
To be listed on the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete in an A-10 sponsored sport must have a 3.5 GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale) during the specified semester.
“Congratulations to these 120 Billiken scholar-athletes who continue to put in the hard work to achieve academic success,” SLU Director of Athletics Chris May said. “Educating our student-athletes is our department's primary objective. It is a campus-wide effort and I could not be more proud with how the SLU community lends its support as we strive to assist our young men and women in the classroom.”
Billiken student-athletes posted a record 3.312 GPA during the fall 2014 semester. Here are additional academic highlights from the semester:
- 254 student-athletes earned at least a 3.0 GPA
- 120 student-athletes earned at least a 3.5 GPA
- 52 student-athletes earned straight As
- 15 programs achieved a cumulative GPA above 3.0
- 5 student-athletes earned a degree during midyear commencement (Kelsey Biggs, softball; Emma Goldschmidt, volleyball; William Hidalgo, men's soccer; Robert Kristo, men's soccer; Brett Turnbough, men's track & field)
- 5 programs (women's tennis, women's cross country, women's basketball, softball and men's cross country) achieved a cumulative GPA above 3.5
- The 3.682 GPA by the women's tennis team was the highest among SLU's 18 NCAA Division I athletic programs
