ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University women's basketball achieved a 3.564 team grade point average for the 2014-15 academic year, placing the Billikens sixth in the nation on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for NCAA Division I programs.
The sixth-place finish is the highest in program history, topping Saint Louis' previous best of eighth place in 2000-01. The Billikens also landed on the WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll in 2006-07 (17th) and 1998-99 (23rd).
“This is a huge accomplishment for our program,” head coach Lisa Stone said. “I am so very proud of my players and their dedication to academics and being outstanding student-athletes.
“I want to make special mention of our academic services staff and recognize the role they and our administration play in our success,” Stone said. “But most importantly, I congratulate the unbelievable women I have the pleasure of coaching for a job well done. Their hard work and their dedication to our program, both on and off the court, have resulted in this wonderful accomplishment.”
Briana Gray, Olivia Jakubicek, Jackie Kemph, Erin Nelson and Shea Shipman earned inclusion on the Atlantic 10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll (minimum 3.5 GPA) in both semesters.
