THE BASICS

--Jackie Kemph scored a career-high 24 points to pace four Saint Louis players in double figures, and the Billikens extended their winning streak to five with a 77-66 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Saint Joseph's Wednesday night at Hagan Arena.

--The Billikens improved to 15-4 for just the second time in program history – matching the 1979-80 team – and 5-1 in the A-10. It's the first time in SLU women's basketball history the Billikens have started 5-1 in conference play; their five-game conference winning streak is a program record.

--The Bills have equaled their victory total of last season.

--With their seventh road win of the season, the Billikens have surpassed their road victory total from the entire 2014-15 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

--Saint Louis trailed just once, 10-9 midway through the first quarter. The game was tied seven times in the opening stanza, including 23-23 at the end of the period.

--The Billikens came out on fire in the second quarter, scoring on five of their first six possessions in a 10-2 run that gave them a 33-25 advantage.

--Saint Joseph's cut the lead to six twice, but Saint Louis finished the half with an 11-4 spurt and carried a 46-33 lead to the locker room.

--After SLU built the lead to 15 points twice early in the third quarter, Saint Joseph's cut the margin to nine before the Billikens took a 61-50 lead to the fourth quarter.

--A 7-0 run allowed Saint Joseph's to draw to within six, 70-64, but the Billikens were able to hold off the Hawks in the final moments.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES

--The Bills have 11 victories by 10 or more points this year, three more than they had all of last season.

--SLU had season highs of 23 free throws made and 34 free throw attempts.

-- Saint Louis' 46 first-half points are a Billiken season high.

--The Billikens committed just 11 turnovers.

--Kemph was 9-of-16 from the field overall and 2-of-3 from 3-point range. She added five rebounds and five assists.

--Aaliyah Covington (4-of-8 FG, 4-of-5 FT) tallied 13 points and four rebounds.

--Maddison Gits (4-of-7 FG, 3-of-4 FT) tossed in 11 points and grabbed four rebounds.

--Sadie Stipanovich (3-of-5 FG, 4-of-4 FT) scored 10 points.

--Jamesia Price dished out seven assists, tying her season high.

--Olivia Jakubicek and Denisha Womack collected six and five rebounds, respectively.
