THE BASICS

Saint Louis suffered a 67-53 setback against Richmond Wednesday night in Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball action at Chaifetz Arena.

It was the fourth loss in a row for the Billikens, who fall to 8-15 overall and 3-8 in the A-10. The Spiders improve to 13-10 overall and 5-6 in the league.

SLU, which trailed by just one at halftime, received a team-high 10 points from Ash Yacoubou. Miles Reynolds chipped in nine points, while Matt Neufeld turned in a career-high eight points.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES

-- Yacoubou collected a team-high six rebounds to go along with his 10 points.

-- Neufeld's career-high eight points came on 2-of-4 shooting from the floor and a 4-of-4 performance from the stripe. He also collected a career-best four rebounds.

-- Reynolds was 4-of-5 from the field and 1-of-2 from the stripe to account for his nine points.

-- Nine of the 10 Billikens who saw playing time scored.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-- The game featured eight ties and three lead changes.

-- Richmond shot 53.8 percent for the game, including a 59.3 percent mark (16-of-27) in the second half.

-- A pair of Neufeld's free throws at 4:50 of the first half put the Billikens on top by five.

-- Richmond took a 32-31 lead into halftime.

-- The Spiders started the second half on a 13-1 run and never looked back, stretching their lead to as much as 18 points before posting the double-digit win.

RICHMOND LEADERS

-- Three Spiders scored in double figures, led by T.J. Cline's 18 points. Leading scorer Terry Allen had 15 points, while ShawnDre' Jones scored 10 points.

-- Trey Davis recorded a team-high seven assists.

UP NEXT

-- The Billikens open a two-game roadswing Saturday at VCU. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. (CT).
