OVERALL
Saint Louis swimming and diving competed well at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. In all, 12 school records were broken, seven medals were won and Saint Louis earned two conference titles. The Billikens' top performer was Ryan McCoy, who won two gold medals and three silvers. The men's team finished fourth overall, the best finish by SLU at the A-10 Championships in school history. 

DAY ONE OVERVIEW
The Billikens competed well at the first day of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships, breaking four records. In the first swimming event of the meet, the 200-yard medley relay, the quad of Riley KirbyMorgan ParkinsonOlivia Garrett and Mina Glenesk touched the wall at 1:43.92. Not only is that the fastest time in SLU history, but Kirby (26.22 backstroke split) and Garrett (24.18 butterfly split) turned in the fastest splits in school history. In the same event for the men, Shane CanoJack KaneBrendan Hulseman and Brian North finished fourth with a time of 1:30.20 with Cano coming in at 23.12 for the fastest 50-yard backstroke split in SLU history.

In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the women's team of Abbey King, Glenesk, Elaine Mahon and Alexa Gross shattered the previous school record by six seconds with a time of 7:27.56. Glenesk had a 1:50.47 split in the second leg, the fastest 200-yard freestyle split in Billiken history. 

For the men in the 800-yard freestyle relay, Ryan McCoy led off with a Saint Louis and Atlantic 10 record 1:35.99 in the 200-yard freestyle. As a team, McCoy, Brendan HulsemanNick Jessee and Patrick Schrauth touched at 6:32.63, also a SLU record. They finished second in the event by 0.26 seconds. 

DAY TWO OVERVIEW
Saint Louis continued to swim well in day two of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships. Mina Glenesk opened the scoring for the Bills, winning the consolation heat in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:57.47. In the same event for the men, Ryan McCoy touched the wall at 4:24.84, earning second-place and an NCAA B cutline while setting a SLU record in the event. In the consolation heat, Grant Gamroth finished 10th with a time of 4:31.88, Jeremy Goodison finished 11th with a time of 4:31.90 and Nick Jessee finished 16th with a time of 4:41.33.

T.J. Decker finished seventh in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:51.27. Austin Nguyenphu touched the wall at 1:51.84 in the consolation heat, finishing 12th. 

Olivia Garrett finished 16th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.96. For the men, Brian North finished 14th with a time of 20.93.

DAY THREE OVERVIEW
The Billikens had a great day in the pool on the third day. The Saint Louis men placed eight swimmers in their respective championship heats, more than any other school in the meet.

The swimming began with the 400-yard IM. The men had both Austin Nguyenphu and Isaiah Williams make the championship heat, with Nguyenphu finishing third at 3:56.45 and Williams finishing sixth at 3:58.85. Jeremy Goodison (4:03.51) and Justin Mars (4:04.50) finished 12th and 14th, respectively in the consolation finals.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Olivia Garrett earned points for the women's team, touching the wall at 56.32, finishing 12th. On the men's side, Ryan McCoy finished second with a time of 47.72, setting a SLU record and earning an NCAA "B" cut. Brendan Hulseman also swam in the championship heat, finishing seventh with a time of 49.79. 

Mina Glenesk earned points in the 200-yard freestyle with her  time of 1:51.72, finishing 12th. Nick Jessee finished fourth in the event for the men with a time of 1:39.40. Grant Gamroth won the consolation finals with a time of 1:39.87.

A pair of Billiken men competed in the championship heat of the 100-yard breaststroke. T.J. Decker finished seventh with a time of 55.54, while Jack Kane finished eighth with a time of 55.74. Mitchell Ellis finished 15th in the consolation final with a time of 57.84.

Riley Kirby finished seventh in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.23, earning 12 points for the women's team. For the men, senior Shane Cano set a Billiken record with a time of 49.34, finishing seventh. 

In the 400-yard medley relay, Elaine Mahon had the fastest 100-yard freestyle split in school history (50.95) as the team of Kirby, Gartland, Garrett and Mahon finished 10th with a time of 3:50.56. For the men, Cano led off with a 49.52 100-yard backstroke split, and McCoy turned in the fastest 50-yard (21.38) and 100-yard (46.81) butterfly splits in SLU history, leading the men to a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:16.82. 

DAY FOUR OVERVIEW
The final day of the meet began with the grueling 1650-yard freestyle. For the women, Mina Glenesk turned in a time of 17:12.68, finishing seventh and setting a Billiken record by 14.25 seconds. Abbey King also competed in the event, finishing 15th with a time of 17:27.45. Jeremy Goodison swam the mile for the men, finishing eighth with a 16:00.91, beating the previous SLU record by .03 seconds. Patrick Schrauth also earned points for the men, finishing 16th with a time of 16:17.67.

Riley Kirby finished seventh in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.63. For the men, Shane Cano finished eighth with a time of 1:50.35.

Elaine Mahon finished 13th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.86, the third-fastest time in SLU history. Ryan McCoy won his first gold of the meet in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.18. However, he swam even faster in prelims with a school-record 44.10. Close behind McCoy was Brendan Hulseman who placed fourth with a time of 45.17. Nick Jessee (46.27) and Brian North (46.70) finished 15th and 16th, respectively in the consolation finals. Only Davidson had as many swimmers score in the 100-yard freestyle as the Billikens. 

Austin Nguyenphu touched the wall in 1:59.88 in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing third and setting a SLU record. T.J. Decker also competed in the championship finals, coming in seventh with a time of 2:02.62. Jack Kane (2:04.06), Mitchell Ellis (2:05.17) and Justin Mars (2:06.16) each scored points for SLU in the event, finishing 10th, 12th and 14th, respectively.

Freshman Isaiah Williams was the lone Billiken to score in the 200-yard butterfly. He finished 10th with a time of 1:50.55.

Kalley Schwab won the consolation finals of the women's three-meter diving with a score of 224.30. 

The women's team wrapped up the meet with a time of 3:26.28 in the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing eighth and setting a Billiken record. On the men's side, the team of Hulseman, Cano, McCoy and Jessee won the event with a time of 2:59.00.
