THE BASICS
Saint Joseph's DeAndre' Bembry scored a game-high 27 points as the Hawks defeated the Saint Louis Billikens 77-63 Sunday afternoon at Hagan Arena.

The Billikens slip to 10-18 and 5-11 in league play. They are tied for 10th the league standings with two games to play. Saint Joseph's remains tied for first in the league standings with a 13-3 A-10 mark (24-5 overall).

Saint Louis received 15 points from Jermaine Bishop and 14 points from Mike Crawford.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES
-- Bishop was 5-of-13 from the field and 3-of-7 from the arc.  

-- Crawford hit a pair of 3-pointers and ended up 6-of-16 from the field. He also registered a team-high two steals and gathered six rebounds.

-- Reggie Agbeko was a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and finished with eight points.

-- Miles Reynolds connected on 3-of-4 from the field and 2-of-4 from the line to finish with eight points.

-- Ash Yacoubou scored six points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. He played 39 minutes.

-- It marked the first time SLU has lost at Hagan Arena, where it is now 5-1. The loss also ended a stretch of nine straight wins for the Billikens against St. Joe's.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-- The game featured seven ties and five lead changes.

-- Saint Joseph's went to the free-throw line 31 times, compared to just 12 times for the Bills.

-- The Billikens led 25-24 with 6:19 remaining in the first half. A triple by Bishop and jumpers by Agbeko and Crawford kept the Billikens in the game in the opening half.

-- Matt Neufeld's basket in the paint late in the first half briefly tied the score, but Saint Joseph's nailed a 3-pointer on the next possession for a 3-point cushion. The Hawks took a 35-32 into halftime.

-- Saint Joseph's shot 60 percent from the floor in the second half, but SLU was still in the game midway through the half.

-- Davell Roby and Bishop combined for an 8-0 Billiken run that tied the game at 47-47 with 12:46 remaining.

-- SLU kept the game in check from that point on but was never able to gain the lead. Baskets by Yarbrough and Crawford pulled the Billikens within three two different times.

-- Yacoubou's 3-pointer with 3:49 left in the game had the Billikens within five, but SJU would respond with a 7-0 run and cruise to the 14-point victory.

SAINT JOSEPH'S LEADERS
-- Bembry was 11-of-16 from the field to account for his game-high 27 points. He also posted eight rebounds and dished out six assists.

-- Bembry's front-court teammate, Isaiah Miles, scored 18 points. Lamarr Kimble scored eight points and registered six assists.

-- The Billikens remain in Philadelphia to face La Salle on Wednesday at Tom Gola Arena. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT).
