THE BASICS
St. Bonaventure's Jaylen Adams hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer as Saint Louis fell 65-62 at St. Bonaventure on Sunday.
The Billikens dip to 8-14 overall and 3-7 in the league. St. Bonaventure improves to 15-6 overall and 7-3 in the league.
Adams' 3-pointer was the cap on a Bonnies' run that saw them rally from an 8-point deficit with 8:56 remaining. Mike Crawford's basket in the paint tied the game 62-all with 15.9 seconds left to set up the final shot.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
-- Jermaine Bishop led the Billikens 17 points. He was 5-of-11 from the floor, hit two 3-pointers and was 5-of-5 from the stripe. Bishop also collected a career-high-tying six assists.
-- Davell Roby scored 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field, 2-of-2 from the arc and 2-of-2 from the line.
-- Ash Yacoubou was 5-of-10 from the field en route to 11 points.
-- Reggie Agbeko scored five points and collected nine rebounds.
-- Miles Reynolds scored seven points thanks in part to a 5-of-6 performance from the free-throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-- St. Bonaventure rallied in the second half to take a 61-59 lead with less than 1:30 remaining.
-- SLU and St. Bonaventure traded trips to the free-throw line, with each team hitting 1-of-2 attempts as St. Bonaveture led 62-60 with less than 30 seconds left.
-- Crawford tied the game with 16 seconds left when he went to the basket after getting a pass from Jermaine Bishop.
-- On the ensuing possession, however, St. Bonaventure ran the clock down to five seconds, and Marcus Posley found Adams who buried the game-winning 3-pointer from the right wing.
-- The game featured four ties and five lead changes as SLU led the majority of the contest (33:16).
-- The Bonnies led 28-27 at halftime, but SLU quickly grabbed the lead in the second session and had its biggest lead of the game at the 8:56 mark of the second half (50-42).
-- Five of the Bonnies' seven 3-pointers came in the second half.
ST. BONAVENTURE LEADERS
-- Adams and Posley led the way for the Bonnies with 19 and 14 points, respectively … Dion Wright recorded a double-double with 14 and 10 rebounds.
