ABOUT THE MATCH
-- For the second time in as many games, Saint Louis hosts a College Cup participant from last year when Denver visits Hermann Stadium Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The Pioneers advanced to the NCAA semifinals in 2016 before falling to Wake Forest.

-- This is the sixth meeting all-time between the Billikens and Pioneers. Denver, which defeated the Billikens last year in Denver, Colorado, leads the series 3-2-0.

ABOUT THE BILLIKENS
-- Saint Louis (2-3-1) is on a three-game unbeaten streak.

-- The Billikens are coming off a thrilling 2-0 win over No. 5 Stanford in front of more than 3,000 fans for Homecoming. Sophomore Leo Novaes and redshirt freshman Spencer Jones scored second-half goals for the Billikens.

-- Three Billikens were honored for their play in the Stanford game. Novaes was named the Atlantic 10 Conference's Player of the Week, while Jones was tabbed the A-10's co-Rookie of the Week. Junior Lennart Hein was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.

-- Hein leads the team with two goals. Junior Jacob Krupp, Novaes and Jones follow with three points (1G, 1A) apiece.

-- Hein scored the Billikens' game-winning goal in a 1-0 triumph at Marquette. Krupp scored in the Billikens' 2-1 overtime loss in the season opener against Syracuse. It was his first goal in a Billiken uniform. Krupp transferred to SLU after spending his freshman year at Memphis and his sophomore season at Jefferson College.

-- Freshman Patrick Wilkinson played a full 90 minutes at Marquette and received the Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer Rookie of the Week award for his effort in the shutout victory.

-- Twenty-two Billikens have seen playing time at some point in the first six games, including nine student-athletes who appeared for the Bills for the first time in their careers.

-- Senior goalkeeper Sascha Otte has 25 saves on the season. He is tied for second nationally among active NCAA Division I goalkeepers with 23 career shutouts.

-- The Billikens finished 7-8-3 last season. SLU posted a 6-2 record in Atlantic 10 Conference play to win the A-10 regular-season title. Sophomore Saadiq Mohammed is SLU's leading returning scorer after scoring three goals – all game-winners in conference play – a season ago.

-- Junior forward Anthony Brown is the Billikens' career active leading scorer with 12 points (3G, 6A).

-- Head coach Mike McGinty is in his eighth season at Saint Louis. The reigning A-10 Coach of the Year has a 76-50-14 record at SLU.

-- Up next, Saint Louis begins Atlantic 10 Conference play when Massachusetts comes to town Saturday, Sept. 30.

ABOUT THE PIONEERS
-- Denver enters Tuesday's game 4-4 overall. The Pioneers have been idle since Sept. 17, a 1-0 home loss against Saint Mary's.

-- Denver has advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last four seasons.

-- The Pioneers were ranked No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll and won three of their first four, but they have proceeded to drop three of their last four.

-- Graham Smith (2G, 3A) and Andre Shinyashiki (3G, 1A) lead the Pioneers with seven points apiece. Nick Gardner has played every minute in goal and sports a 0.73 goals against average.

-- Head coach Jamie Franks is in his third season at Denver.
