ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure guard Jaylen Adams torched Saint Louis with 44 points as the Billikens dropped a 79-56 decision on the road Wednesday at St. Bonaventure.

The loss snaps the Billikens' three-game winning streak as they fall to 13-12 overall and 6-6 in the league. St. Bonaventure improves to 17-6 and 7-4 in the league.

Adams' 44 points came on 14-of-18 shooting from the field, 10-of-13 from 3-point range and 6-of-8 from the stripe.

For the Billikens, Javon Bess led the way with a double-double of 13 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Jordan Goodwin was one rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds. Jalen Johnson and Hasahn French chipped in nine points apiece.

Saint Louis started off hot, going up 7-0 early on. The Billikens were ahead 15-7 eight minutes into the contest before the Bonnies went on a 15-1 run to grab a lead they would not relinquish.

In the second half, Adams drained four 3-pointers in a three-plus minute span to break the game open. His 10 3-pointers made were a school record.

The Billikens return to action on Saturday night when they host La Salle at Chaifetz Arena. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m., and it will be televised on FOX Sports Midwest.
