THE BASICS
• Saint Louis pushed their win streak to six, following their 3-1 victory over Fordham on Saturday. They improve to 12-8 on the season, 6-1 in Atlantic 10 play.
• Fordham falls to 7-12, 0-7, in 2019.
• Junior Maya Taylor led the Billikens with 23 kills (.290), while also collecting 10 digs.
FIRST SET
Kennedy Cordia led off the set with one of her two service aces in the frame, giving the Billikens a 1-0 lead. SLU was able to extend the lead to 16-10 and then 21-16, but Fordham ended the game on a 9-2 run and won the set 25-23.
SECOND SET
Fordham jumped out to an early 5-2 lead, but the Billikens used a 7-0 run to get on top 11-6. SLU held the lead from there, eventually winning the set 25-16.
THIRD SET
The Billikens and Rams were all square at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 8, before SLU jumped ahead to an 11-8 lead. Fordham quickly answered and knotted things back at 12. The Bills then pulled away at 17-13, 21-16 and won the set at 25-19.
FOURTH SET
Saint Louis took control of the set at 9-4, extending their lead to 14-7 and 17-10. The Rams pulled within two points multiple times, but the Billikens held on to win the game 25-22 and the match 3-1.
NOTABLE
• Taylor led the Billikens with 23 kills (.290), while also collecting 10 digs.
• Cordia tallied 47 assits, 12 digs, two service aces and one kill.
• Sien Gallop ranked second on the team with 16 kills and 18 digs.
• Sophomore Cayce Chaykowsky recorded a season-high 26 digs, along with four assists.
• Juliana Phillips collected 10 kills, seven digs and two service aces.
• Sophomore Sara Daniels had nine kills to go along with her team-leading six blocks.
