The Billikens jumped out ahead early, going up 10-4 in the first quarter. Vanderbilt then answered with a 10-4 run of their own, tying the game at 14 to end the quarter.
Freshman Rachel Kent knocked down two quick three-pointers to start the second quarter, on her way to a team-high 17 points in the contest.
On the following possession, Myriama Smith Traore nailed a three-pointer to put SLU up 23-16 in the game.
The Commodores bounced back, ending the half on an 8-0 run and took a 26-25 lead into the locker room.
Vanderbilt led off the second half with nine straight points, extending their run to 17-0.
At the end of the third quarter, the Commodores led 44-29.
The Billikens pulled back within 11 early in the fourth and outscored Vanderbilt 21-18, but the Commodores closed out the game with a 62-50 victory.
Kent led the way for SLU, collecting 17 points, including three three-pointers, three rebounds and two assists.
Sophomore Ciaja Harbison tallied 14 points, six rebounds and two steals.
Smith Traore finished with 14 rebounds, five on the offensive glass, four blocks and five points.
