Box Score Saint Louis recorded 11 service aces and had five players hit for a better than .333 attack percentage in the sweep over Davidson in the Atlantic 10 Championship quarterfinals.
The Billikens hit for a .412 attack percentage in the first set, while holding Davidson to a .071 percentage, on their way to a 25-15 game win.
Six different players recorded at least one kill in the first frame, including Sien Gallop with a team-leading five kills. Sara Daniels had four kills on four attacks, and Maya Taylor collected four kills and two service aces.
SLU used a 4-0 run to pull away from the Wildcats in the second set, putting them up 15-7 and forcing a Davidson timeout. The Billikens took the frame 25-16.
The Billikens jumped out to an early 8-2 lead in the third set, eventually extending it to 18-8. Freshman Margaret Mahlke recorded kills on two of the final three Saint Louis points, and the Billikens solidified the sweep 25-16.
As a team, SLU recorded 11 service aces, the second most for the team this season. They collected 15 in the four-set match against Eastern Washington on Sept. 7.
Taylor led the Billikens with 12 kills (.407), while also tallying three service aces and seven digs.
All-Conference second team member, Kennedy Cordia, recorded 37 assists, a team-best four service aces, one kill and three digs.
Gallop finished with 10 kills (.333), six digs and one service ace.
Lauren Mershon, (six, .556) and Daniels (six, .556) both hit better than .500 in the match.
The Billikens will face second seeded Dayton at 6 p.m. CT tomorrow evening.
