PHOENIX – Saint Louis drilled a school-record 17 3-pointers in an 86-62 victory over Tulane on Sunday in the Jerry Colangelo Classic at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

The Billikens have won five straight and improve to 8-1. Tulane falls to 7-2.

Gibson Jimerson (game-high 22 points) and
Demarius Jacobs (18 points) led SLU's 3-point shooting barrage with six treys apiece. As a team, the Billikens finished 17-of-28 (60.7 percent) from beyond the arc.

SLU broke the previous school record of 15 3-pointers in a game, which was accomplished twice in 2004 and 2007.

Hasahn French scored 18 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out five assists. He was named Most Outstanding Player of the SLU win in the Jerry Colangelo Classic.

Jordan Goodwin registered his fourth-straight double-double with 12 points and 16 boards. He also dished out five assists and posted two steals.

SLU's first three field goals were treys by Goodwin,
Yuri Collins and Jimerson as SLU went up by five early on, and the Bills never looked back.

Consecutive treys by Jacobs helped spark a 9-0 SLU run late in the first half, and the Billikens took a 16-point lead into halftime.

The Billikens started slow in the second half and had their lead cut to 10, but SLU righted the ship to grow its lead to 18 midway through the second half.

SLU is back in action on Saturday when it travels to Birmingham, Alabama, to face Auburn in the Mike Slive Invitational. The game tips at 3 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2.
