THE BASICS
• Saint Louis improved to 5-2 on the season, 4-0 at home, following their 3-1 victory over Troy Friday night.
• Maya Taylor (14) and Juliana Phillips (13) led the way for the Billikens, combining for 27 kills in the match.
FIRST SET
In a set that saw three tie scores and one lead change, the Trojans won the frame 25-21. Sien Gallop led the way for the Billikens with two kills, five digs and one assist.
SECOND SET
Saint Louis and Troy went back-and-forth early, having tie scores on six different occasions, but the Billikens pulled ahead late and took the set 25-19.
THIRD SET
The Billikens came from behind and used a 7-0 run to take an early 12-7 lead in the set. Things were tied at 22 late, but SLU took three of the last four points and won the frame 25-23.
FOURTH SET
Saint Louis grabbed the first five points in the set, forcing the Trojans to use an early timeout. The Billikens held the lead the rest of the frame, taking the set 25-18 and the match 3-1.
NOTABLE
• Taylor recorded 14 kills in the match, adding to her team-high 121 on the season.
• Phillips matched her career-high with 13 kills.
• Gallop collected a team-high 18 digs, along with her seven kills and one service ace.
• Kennedy Cordia tallied 38 assists, and with three more service aces on the night, she increased her total to a team-high 18 on the season (0.64 per set).
• Lauren Mershon and Sara Daniels recorded six kills each.
