RECAP
Grace Golembiewski scored her first collegiate goal on a penalty stroke, but Saint Louis fell 2-1 against VCU on Sunday in an Atlantic 10 Conference field hockey match at Sportport International in Maryland Heights, Mo.

The Billikens fall to 0-8 overall and 0-2 in the A-10, while the Rams improve to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the league.

All three goals scored in the match came in the first 7:19 of the contest. VCU opened the scoring in the fourth minute, but the Billikens answered in the seventh when Golembiewski converted a penalty stroke. It was her first collegiate goal.

VCU answered in the eighth minute to take a lead it would not relinquish.

The Billikens earned a corner as time expired and had a chance to equalize, but the deflection sailed just wide of the cage.

Saint Louis is on the road for its next two – at La Salle on Friday, Oct. 4, and at Saint Joseph's Sunday, Oct. 6.
