Saint Louis junior forward Myriama Smith Traore was named the Atlantic 10 Conference's women's basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.

Smith Traore posted a double-double in each of SLU's first two games, victories over Memphis (82-74) and Bradley (69-54).

The junior averaged 12.0 points and 12.0 rebounds, to go along with her 50 percent shooting from the field. Smith Traore also added five assists, five steals and five blocks. She was perfect from the free throw line, going 8-for-8 in the two contests.

Smith Traore began the week with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the Billikens' home opener against Memphis. She also led the team with three blocks and three steals in the game.

The forward followed that performance up with 10 points and 13 rebounds in Sunday's victory over Bradley.

The Billikens return to Chaifetz Arena Wednesday, Dec. 9, when they host Tulsa at 6 p.m.
