THE BASICS
• Kaylea Chappelle pitched Saint Louis' first shutout of the season Saturday, a 5-0 victory over Saint Francis (Pa.) on day two of Chattanooga's Frost Classic.
• Earlier in the day, SLU fell 10-1 to UNLV.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
• UNLV struck for five runs in the top of the first inning and expanded its lead with a run in the third and two in the sixth.
• Saint Louis plated a run in the sixth when Kat Lane's groundout scored Aubrey Hacke, who had tripled.
• UNLV finished the scoring with two runs in the seventh.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Hacke added a single and struck out nine in 6 1/3 innings of relief in the circle.
• Sadie Wise had a double.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
• Kelsey Etling put the Billikens on the board in the bottom of the second with a two-out RBI single.
• Wise's second home run of the year in the third, also coming with two away, made it 2-0 Saint Louis.
• The Bills doubled the lead in the fourth when Allie Herron delivered a two-run double.
• SLU concluded the scoring in the sixth on Lane's RBI ground ball.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Chappelle allowed just five hits – all coming in the first four innings – and one walk while striking out four in her fourth career shutout. She retired the side in order in the sixth and seventh innings.
• Etling had two hits.
• Kayla Swiderski doubled, while Lane, Maria Connell, Hacke and Kristi Stevenson picked up a single apiece.
 
UP NEXT
The Billikens play their final game in the Frost Classic Sunday, facing Miami (Ohio) at 8 a.m.
