Saint Louis let an 11-point third quarter lead slip away and fell 67-60 at VCU Saturday afternoon.
The Billikens fell to 16-11 overall and 8-6 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, while VCU moved to 16-11 and 11-3 in league games.
Ciaja Harbison led the Billikens with her eighth 20-point game of the season, collecting 23 points, five assists, five rebounds and two steals.
Rachel Kent tied a career best with five 3-pointers (5-for-6), finishing with 17 points, three assists and two rebounds.
Myriama Smith Traore pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, along with her three points.
Taya Robinson led VCU with 20 points, while Danielle Hammond added 15 points, eight rebounds and five blocks.
Saint Louis held the Rams to a 25.9 shooting percentage in the first half, including just four points on 2-for-16 shooting in the first quarter. The Billikens took a 21-16 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Harbison recorded eight of the second half's first 10 points, giving the Billikens a 29-18 lead. Following a Kent 3-pointer at the 5:07 mark in the quarter, the Rams went on a 13-0 run to take a 34-32 lead in the game. Kent's fourth trey of the contest with 22 seconds remaining in the period put the Billikens back on top, 35-34.
A 14-7 run to start the fourth gave the Rams a 48-42 advantage, before Smith Traore's bucket and the foul pulled the Billikens back within three. VCU got out to its biggest lead of the game at 58-47 with 1:52 remaining. With eight points from Jaidah Stewart, the Billikens were able to keep the game close until the end, but VCU came away with the 67-60 victory.
Saint Louis will wrap up its Richmond road swing with a game at the Spiders Wednesday night. The game will tip at 5:30 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
